I’ve been feeling a bit anxious lately - the sun is finally OUT, I’ve been to the gym twice, I’m READY for a vacation. My full time job has essentially taken over my life, so I’ve really been trying to enjoy my weekends and fill them up with relaxing with my love.
Last week, we took an afternoon to be local tourists in DC. We hit up a few spots around Dupont, picked out a pair of Warby Parker glasses (here’s the Insta if you missed it!), and finished off our night at The Living Room.
When they invited me and the hubs out for a date night, I could’t type YES PLEASE I NEED THIS SO BADLY RIGHT NOW fast enough. If you haven’t been, The Living Room is located within the Ritz Carlton in Georgetown. When you walk inside, you’re greeted by their staff and instantly I already feel like I’m in vacation mode.
We sit down on the plush couches Someone brings over a menu and I have the hardest time deciding what to get because everything looks SO good! I decided on the Grace Street Coffee cocktail and the hubs got the Smoking George…both of which were very, very good.
Next, we indulged in some light bites! My vegetarian option was the cheese plate, which I feel like is an excellent choice whether you’re vegetarian or not. Hubs got the sushi, which he said was delicious. He even let me eat the last bite (which only consisted of rice and seaweed but was also everything at the same time.)
To be honest, we don’t do many date nights like this. Life gets busy, Netflix starts releasing all kinds of great new shoes, and time escapes us. But we’ve really started to be intentional about doing date-night type activities, trying new places, and getting some quality time SANS PHONE every once in a while.
Do you guys have date nights with your significant other? What sort of fun things do you do together? And - have you been to The Living Room yet?! Tell me in the comments below or head over to the Instagram and let me know what you thought!
