Have you ever met someone who you immediately knew you’d be friends with for a long time? Even after just meeting them once?
That’s how I felt when I met Sharleen of London Red.
My bus had just made it’s second stop on my way into DC. A girl sat next to me, but I wasn’t paying much attention. Since I do my makeup once I get to work, I try to avoid eye contact with anyone before my face is ON.
“I really like your bag,” my neighbor said.
I looked over to find a girl with long, gorgeous blonde hair with that west coast vibe I love so much.
And mind you, I don’t usually take this bag with me on the bus. I wanted to shoot some stuff after work, and it doubles as my camera bag, so today was one of the very few I had it with me.
“Thanks! I use it to hold my camera,” I said as I opened up the bag to reveal my Fujifilm XT1 and a few other accessories.
Also - might I add - this is a quiet bus. Meaning talking is definitely frowned upon. However, today felt like a day for breaking the rules.
Sharleen then told me that she’s a photographer! I gasped at the incredible chances that could happen, and I said I had a fashion blog and LOVED photography!
We talked for the next hour about everything under the sun, and followed each other on Instagram before we got off the bus.
The rest, they say, is history.
We recently got coffee together on one of the cooler afternoons we’ve been having. We shot a few photos, and I must say, Sharleen totally captured the essence of who I am. She has such a beautiful, thoughtful approach to her photography and I had a blast shooting with her!
AND I answered a few fun questions with her including why I named the blog It’s Julien, what I’m inspired by and whether or not I’m a coffee snob. ;) CHECK OUT THE INTERVIEW HERE!
