I was watching Instagram Stories the other night, and a girl I know was spending some time in Paris. Whenever something like this happens, all I want to know is what the French girls are wearing. When I was planning our trip to Paris, I wanted to literally copy whatever was cool at that moment!
As she was hanging out at a local spot in the 16th arrondissement, she did a pano (to which, I, like a normal person, proceeded to screenshot what everyone was wearing like a crazy person.) She goes, “it’s insane the amount of people who are wearing Keds here. It’s, like, EVERYONE HAS THEM.”
I made a mental note: GET YO’SELF SOME KEDS.
Later that day as I walked home in the pouring rain in my suede flats, I realized the error in my judgement. I desperately needed rain boots.
I made a metal note: GET YO’SELF SOME RAIN BOOTS.
And like magic, those two words collided when Keds sent over their Scout Splash Boot.. I get the chic, French, cool-girl vibes while also protecting the integrity of my shoes in questionable weather. If that’s not a win-win, I don’t know what is.
To make things even better, the insole is cushioned with Ortholite, which keeps your feet comfortable while also being super breathable. And to be honest, hot feet are one of the reasons I’ve waited so long to buy a pair of rain boots.
Although I’m ready for this wet weather to be over, I’m excited I’ve finally found a shoe I can wear on my way into work and on the weekends that’ll keep my feet comfortable and dry. Plus, they’ll be perfect for the cooler Fall weather too.
But don’t think these are just for bad weather. I wore these out for a cute little date night with the hubby to a local burger joint - sans rain. While the shoe is weatherized, I never felt like I was wearing a “rain boot” - it felt more like waterproof and lightweight high tops shoe to me.
Have you checked out the new Keds collections? I’m in love with quite a few pair, including these classic kicks!
