I've always been a LBD kind of girl and being pregnant hasn't changed that one bit. Is it harder to find pieces that fit my newfound figure? Sometimes - but not this time.
I recently got this stunning midi-length wrap dress from Banana Republic (it also comes in the prettiest shade of olive!) and it was love at first-try on. Actually, it's a pretty vivid memory for me, trying on this dress. I was in my room, feeling a bit flustered at how difficult it was to find clothing that I loved that also fit my bump. I had a few packages to open, and when I felt this one from Banana Republic, I had this glimmer of hope.
Once I tried it on, I got really emotional (helloooo pregnancy hormones!) I was sooo happy with both the fit and the fabric. (Side note: I only like things that feel good against my skin - which is a funny story I'll need to tell you sometime that involves my mother only dressing me in the most comfortable clothing when I was a baby - thus my infatuation and obsession with all things comfy TO THIS DAY.)
Not only is it incredibly comfortable, but it's super flattering - and not just on this pregnant mama. I've been wearing wrap dresses pretty much since I came out of the womb, and I don't plan on ever stopping because THEY ARE SO FLATTERING.
Another thing I'm totally digging from Banana Republic this season is this denim jacket. Holy smokes, I never thought I'd find another denim jacket I loved as much as the one I currently own. But this one - with the frayed edges and vintage blue tone, is my new favorite.
If you don't believe me, know this - I am traveling to Malibu and Palm Springs tomorrow and this is THE ONLY jacket I'm taking with me. It's comfortable, it fits well (I'm wearing a medium) and it feels like a fresh, new version of my old one.
Lastly - these slides. When I saw them, my heart melted of minimalist joy. Could they be as cute on as they were off? Would they be comfortable? And - would they flatter my newfound swollen feet?
FRIENDS - I am pleased to say with the utmost amount of happiness that all of the above are big ol' YESES. I love the baby blue color, and love the luxe look and feel of suede. You'll be seeing a lot more of these around here, that's for sure.
