While winters always seem to be an absolute nightmare for my skin, this year has been particularly bad. Because I spend a half hour walking outside during my commute to work each day, the cold temperatures and blistering wind have been ruining my regimented skincare routine. What worked before is no longer cutting it, so I've been trying out a few masks to give me the extra hydration my skin needs.
One of my favorites lately has been the SOS Comfort Mask from Clarins. From the minute I saw it, I knew Clarins totally understood what I needed - they weren't judging me for feeling like my dry skin was a VERY BIG DEAL that needs to be fixed right away - quite the opposite. They FEEL me, appealing to my urgent issues with their SOS collection...and it's been JUST what my skin has needed.
Here's what I'm loving about the Clarins SOS Comfort mask:
1. How luxe it feels
This is the thickest mask I've used in a while. It feels buttery when applied, likely because it's infused with wild mango butter! You can see how thick and creamy it is from my photos, and it's done wonders for my dry, winter skin.
2. It's travel sized
I can take this on any upcoming trips without having to worry about TSA throwing out this skincare essential. It's small enough to travel with, but also packs a punch - a little goes a long way.
3. It's quick and easy
No complicated steps and it only take 10 minutes.
Out of the three SOS masks, the Clarins SOS Comfort really focuses on dull, rough, dry skin. And there are a few ways you can get the best results, from this or any mask:
Frequency:
Rather than use when you feel your skin becoming dry, take preventive measures and use once/twice a week.
Exfoliate:
According to the Clarins website, scrubbing off dead surface cells allows your skin to receive the full benefits of your mask. And after trying, I can confirm it really helps the process!
Relax:
Use this time as some quality YOU time. Sit back, relax, close your eyes...a relaxed face benefits from skincare even more than one that isn't relaxed.
If you have great skin in the wintertime, props to you. But if you're like me, living in dry skin struggle city, be sure to check out the Clarins SOS Mask. And as always, with any questions about the mask, feel free to comment below or send me a note! Happy hydrating!
