As much as I hate to say it, summer is slowly coming to a close. And I’m having a hard time to say the least.
Summer is MY SEASON. I love it amidst it’s insane humidity and constant temptations to rid yourself of all clothing and hit the nearest swimming hole. The sunshine brings me joy, and the closer we are to it, the happier I am.
And each year, I make an effort to keep summer with me as long as I can. So while I can’t change the weather, I can take elements of my favorite season into the next.
And that brings me to one way I plan to keep the summer vibes flowing through Fall: this Tom Ford Cream & Powder Eye Color in Naked Bronze and Shade and Illuminate Cheeks in Scintillate.
I discovered these two magical products while visiting Sherber + Rad a couple months back after my Caudalie facial (which you can read more about here!) Enrique had done my makeup and I have never looked better in my entire life. I couldn’t leave without taking a couple things home with me so I could try my best to replicate the look at home.
First, the Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Cheek Cream in Scintillate…this product gives you the perfect sun kissed look to your cheeks. It feels very natural, but also looks like you just hopped off a boat in the South of France. Because it’s a cream, I apply the darker tone with my fingers to my cheeks and the lighter highlight to my cheek bones. Then I blend. It’s subtle, but still makes a statement. If I were to use one blush for the rest of my life, it’d be this. And while this product was given to me as a gift, I would most definitely spend the money on it when it runs out. It’s THAT good.
The Tom Ford Cream & Powder Eye Color in Naked Bronze was probably the show stealer for me when Enrique did my makeup. It comes with two different products in one - one is a deliciously creamy color that’s potent and pigmented. A little goes a long way. Enrique applied with a small brush, but I find myself using my ring finger to lightly tap the color on the bottom of my eyelid and then blend up to the crease in my eyelid. The second part of the combo is a shimmer side, which I use to line the crease of my eyelid to add a beautiful pop. On the top of the eyelid, I usually use a highlighter or the cream highlighter I mentioned above to continue that “just got out of the pool” look.
Tom Ford once said, "Sunkissed skin with a hint of color has a powerful simplicity that is effortlessly stunning." I couldn’t agree more.
