This past weekend marked the 89th Gold Cup and when a friend invited us to attend with them, I obviously jumped at the chance. The women were decked out in their fabulously adorned hats, the guys put on their dapper best, and the people watching did not disappoint.
My American Apparel hat was definitely not the fanciest of the bunch, but I had fallen in love with it when I saw one of my fave bloggers, Julia of Gal Meets Glam sporting the same one in mint. It was just big enough to fit in, and with the addition of an old coach scarf I had bought back in high school, it worked perfectly.
While the Gold Cup festivities are over, there’s still more equestrian events on the horizon. Twighlight Polo, which is definitely the less crowded/more affordable counter-part to the Gold Cup, is coming up every Saturday evening in May through September. I’ll be there for sure, with my floppy hat in tow.
Did you go to the Gold Cup? If so, what did you wear?!
